Happy New Year!

it's been a busy six months and it's looking like it's going to be another great year for weddings! I'm getting booking for 2024 too, so I'd best not retire yet!

My first grandchild was born in August and I'm besotted with him, he's such a joy and I'm loving spending time with him and my daughter whilst she's on maternity leave.

Classes are well underway in Mansfield, they've had a name change to Sewing Direct so check them out if you want to come to a class or treat yourself to a new machine.

Following the sad news that my current teaching venue is closing it's doors at the end of the month, I'm pleased to say I'll still be able to teach at a new venue in Mansfield. Sally Twinkle is a long established haberdashery shop in the town centre, and as part of the new management arrangements, they have decided to hold sewing classes in the space above the shop. I'll be starting with some regular classes in September and watch out for a special sewing bee talk as part of Sally Twinkle's anniversary celebrations. I hope I'll see you all at a class soon!

4th October 2021

Well what a time that's been! Although I've been closed for most of the pandemic, I kept busy working at a local vaccination clinic, which I loved! It was great getting out of the house and, as people were happy to come for their jabs, it was a joyous place to work. Once I reopened in May i hit the ground running with brides all wanting their dresses altering now that their weddings were back on! I was taking booking into October and even have some for next year too. Things are settling down now and I'm back to teaching at Sewilicious which I've really missed. Hopefully we'll have no more shutdowns and we can all get back to some normality!

21st July 2020
Hope you are all safe and well through this awful time, I've not been able to work or teach and I've really missed it! Hopefully now we are allowed to meet with social distancing it won't be too long before we can start classes again, even if it's from behind a mask. I've spent the down time sewing for myself for a change, so I now have the best holiday wardrobe ever for when we are allowed out! I'm now starting work again in a small way with just alterations and I'm ready to welcome back clients old and new! Hope to see you all soon.

Happy New year everyone!
I'm pleased to announce I'm going to be doing classes at CRAFT mama may sew in Sheffield. As some of you may know, Annie's will no longer hosting workshops, so the lovely Sarah has opened workshop space above Ruffles and Lace, which is almost opposite Annie's so I'll still be popping in to feed my fabric habit! My first workshop will be the ever popular overlocker class but I'm hoping to add some pattern alteration classes too.
I'm teaching lots of classes at Sewilicious in Sutton-in-Ashfield, so if you don't want to wait pop down there. It's a lovely place, wonderful staff and I love teaching there.
Sewilicious are holding a 'New Year , new hobby' event on 16th January, with lots of exciting demos, apart from me sewing, there'll be needle felting, furniture painting and flower arranging!
26th September
Been a busy week with the dressmaking classes this week. Everyone has made a toile of their pattern and we've tweaked the fit. Next week we'll be ready to cut out and sew 'real' fabric instead of calico!

Also been getting ready for next week's appearance on Sewing Quarter TV.  I'm making a beautiful dress from  Sew Me Something and my favourite coat pattern, the Dawson from The Thrifty Stitcher. Gorgeous fabrics for these! I'm also demoing the Elna air thread overlocker, so tune in for that too.
